Final Master exam (applicable from Winter Semester 2018/19)

For the new curriculum, a final oral examination in front of an examination committee is required.

You can find some preliminary information here.

For students with a Strategic Management Major:

Each student is responsible for organising their own exam, including organising the availability of the second examiner.

Once you have obtained your second examiner’s confirmed availability for the proposed exam date (in writing), please contact our office (at the latest, 3 weeks before the exam). Our subject area approves the examination committee (taking your choice of examiners into account), however, ultimately reserves the right to decline your suggestion. The chairperson will generally be provided by us.

For students with a Strategic Management Minor:

Once you have obtained your first examiner’s confirmed availability for the proposed exam date, please contact our office (at the latest, 3 weeks before the exam). While we do our best to accommodate students, availability of our examiners (according to the first examiner’s schedule) cannot be guaranteed because of other commitments.

To offer students sufficient flexibility, we offer two dates (with multiple slots) per semester for oral Master exams. These will be published on our homepage with a Doodle Link for students to choose their slot from. Should you have to cancel your slot, please do so at your earliest opportunity. No-shows for the oral exam without a valid reason (for illness, a doctor’s certificate is required) will unfortunately have to be barred from the next exam opportunity.

Regarding literature for the exam, please note that ALL literature, pertaining to ALL classes you attended with us, is relevant for the Strategic Management part of the exam.

Format: 30 minute exam

First examiner: defending your thesis and questions relating to the relevant research areas Second examiner: a second subject area (which you can choose in agreement with your examiner)
